Remember the taste of good, old fashioned spaghetti sauce? Maybe your mom or grandmother stood by the stove all day stirring and stirring, filling the house with the aroma? Miss that sauce? Below is a recipe to bring back that delicious taste and smell of good Italian spices in virtually no time!
You will need:
- Large pot or crock pot
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 2 medium onions, diced
- 1 tsp garlic
- 1 tsp oregano or Italian spice
- 1 large jar of your favorite brand of spaghetti sauce
Brown meat and onions together. Slowly add spaghetti sauce and seasonings. Simmer for 2 hours (or use low in crock pot for 4-5 hours) stirring and tasting occasionally. Add more spices if wanted.
Serve over spaghetti or any type noodles when done. Don’t forget the Parmesan and garlic bread and enjoy!
Tip: If you don’t want to experiment with spices, use an envelope of pre-seasoned spaghetti sauce mix … just don’t add water!
