Chocolate and Valentine’s Day – there’s nothing quite like it!
The chocolate truffle recipe below is quick, easy, scrumptious, child friendly and has very little clean up involved!
You will need the following:
3 Cups powdered sugar
3 Cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 Pkg. cream cheese (8 oz) softened
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 large bowl
Child or 2 (Optional)
Using mixer on low speed, beat cheese until smooth. Slowly add sugar and mix well. Add melted chocolate and vanilla and beat until there are no streaks remaining. Refrigerate about an hour then shape into 1 inch balls…or smaller if you’re having a little one help. Place on waxed paper and refrigerate again for about 15 minutes.
We put the truffles in little sandwich bags and tie with red and white ribbons to hand out to friends and family.
I have also used butterscotch chips as well as peanut butter chips…yummy! Rolling the truffles in powdered sugar or crushed pecans/walnuts, or even sprinkles gives you quite a variety, too.
