Tired of serving the same old sandwiches at your Super Bowl party? Can’t afford to serve Obama’s Wagyu Steak? Want to spare your arteries the trauma of eating the Bacon Belly Bomb on a biscuit?
Then this is the Super Bowl recipe for you! Italian beef is fairly inexpensive, quite tasty and filling!
You will need:
- Crock Pot
- Medium mixing bowl
- Center cut roast – 3 to 4 pounds
- 1 package brown gravy mix
- 1 package Good Seasons Italian dressing mix
- Slightly less than 1/4 cup sugar
Cook roast in crock pot as you normally would, until it flakes. Remove, pull apart or cut into thin slices, return to crock pot.
Mix gravy mix and seasoning mix according to package directions. Pour over roast, cover and cook on low for 30 minutes. Stir in sugar and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
Serve on Italian buns
Optional additions (for color and nutrition)
