For some of us Apple Crisp just goes with the holidays. Of course, you can have it anytime you want. Here’s a delicious recipe for apple crisp for whenever you want it.

Yummy Apple Crisp is a great dessert. I like it because I feel like I’m eating healthy because its apple. I know that’s a stretch, but I find a lot of ways of justifying eating desserts.

Apple Crisp Recipe




Ingredients:

  • 4 to 6 raw apples, peeled and sliced*
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour (all purpose)**
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup shortening or margarine
  • cinnamon

* If you use canned fruit, decrease sugar to 1/2 cup and about 3/4 cup flour.
** You can substitute 1 cup self-rising flour, but eliminate baking powder and salt.

Directions:

Arrange apples in a 8 x 8 inch baking dish. Sift remaining ingredients together. Break 1 egg into mixing bowl; add flour and sugar mixture; mix until its crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Pour 1/3 melted shortening or margarine over top. Sprinkle with cinnamon to taste.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
