Super Bowl chili is an absolute must for so many throwing the annual party. Thankfully, gone are the days of standing at the stove and stirring for hours! Below is one of the easiest and fastest chili and cheese recipe’s I have ever made…bake up a batch of cornbread, have a side salad, and almost everyone’s happy…give it a try!

You will need:

Large stew pot with lid

1# ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onions
4 cans chili beans sauce, undrained, your choice of mild or spicy
2 cans diced tomatoes, undrained ( I use seasoned )
1cup picante or salsa sauce
2 Tbs chili powder ( or use a chili seasoning packet )
Salt and pepper to taste
4 cups cheddar cheese, shredded and divided

Sour cream ( optional )
Cilantro-chopped ( optional )
Directions:

Brown meat and onions in heavy stew pot. Drain grease off. Add seasonings and stir in chili beans, salsa and tomatoes.

Cover pot and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to simmer and continue cooking about 15 minutes.

Add in 3 cups of cheese and stir until melted.
Ladle into bowls and garnish with remaining cup cheese, sour cream, and cilantro. Enjoy with a tossed green salad and cornbread…terrific!

Tip: Ground turkey may be substituted for ground beef.
