If you’re running late getting those Christmas dessert recipes ready, give this easy apple crisp a try. Long a favorite in many homes, this is not only delicious and simple, but will fill your home with a fantastic aroma. Make it ahead, or place in the oven while enjoying your dinner. Either way, give it a try…more than likely you have all ingredients on hand already!
You will need:
1-1/2 quart baking dish
4 cups peeled and sliced apples
1 cup flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
3/4 cup butter
Pre-heat oven to 350*
Combine flour, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar and cut small pieces of
butter in bowl and mix. Blend with fork until crumbly.
Put half of mix into dish, cover with apples and sprinkle rest of mix
over top. Yes, it is that simple!
Bake for 45-50 minutes until apples are tender.
After cooling cut into squares to serve. Top with ice cream or whipped topping, and remember it’s great warm or cold!
