If you need something to do with all those apples left over from apple bobbing at Halloween parties this weekend, you might enjoy this delicious and simple fried apple recipe. It’s unique in that it can be used as a side dish with your main meal or a wonderful dessert. Give it a try!

You will need :

Large skillet
Deep serving bowl
Slotted spoon

3 1/2 cups apple juice- set 1/2 cup aside
6 large apples ( we use Delicious )
Wash but don’t peel and cut into 1/2″ wedges

4Tbs cornstarch
1- 1/2 tsp apple pie spice
6 Tbs Sugar
1 tsp vanilla ( optional )
Combine 3 cups apple juice and apples in a large skillet.
Simmer gently and turn apples often with spatula until fork tender
Remove from skillet with a slotted spoon and place in deep dish or bowl. Using a blender, add 1/2 cup apple juice, cornstarch, pie spice and sugar ( vanilla if you choose ) and blend just a few seconds until smooth.

Stir into hot juice in skillet and cook, stirring constantly on
med-high until it bubbles. It should thicken and be smooth
Turn heat off. Pour over
Serve warm as side dish or dessert. Top with ice cream or whipped topping if desired.
