Coleslaw seems to be one of those salads you love in most forms, or something to be avoided at all cost. I’ve never had a coleslaw that wasn’t at least *good* and most have been so delicious I can’t seem to get enough. Below is one of my family’s all time favorites and we make it through out the year, not just for the holidays, cookouts or get-together’s. Give it try for something different and delicious!

You will need:

Large mixing bowl
Medium saucepan
Wooden or plastic spoon

1 1/2 Tbs light brown sugar
1/2 tsp celery salt
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
4 Tbs water
6 Tbs vinegar
4 Tbs bacon grease ( drippings )
6 Cups finely shredded cabbage
1/3 Cup onion ( finely chopped )

Directions:

Place cabbage and onion in large bowl; toss.
Place all other ingredients in saucepan, cook and stir on low until mixture starts simmering . Pour over cabbage and onion. Mix / toss well and serve immediately while warm and enjoy!.

Hint: If you have leftovers, microwave ( with cover ) for about 10-15 seconds.
