Some call this recipe a cobbler, others call it a crisp. No matter what you name this old favorite, it’s a delicious and easily adjustable dessert. With *apple season * almost here, be sure to give this a try. The mouth watering aroma while baking will have you waiting by the oven door!

You will need:

Large baking dish
Medium bowl
Paring knife
Cooking spray ( I use Pam )

6 cups apples
1 Tbs. lemon juice
1/3 Cup flour
2/3 Cup oatmeal ( not cooked )
1/2 Cup honey1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup butter

Preheat oven to 375*
Peel and slice apples; place in baking dish. Sprinkle lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt over apples. Next, spread honey over the top. Don’t be afraid to add a bit more honey if needed.

Mix oatmeal, flour, brown sugar and a pinch of salt together. Add butter and stir with fork until you have what appears to be moist bread crumbs. Distribute evenly over apples ( Best done with fingers )

Bake 45 to 50 minutes, or until apples are done and your topping is light to medium brown. Remove from oven, let stand a few minutes before serving.
Serve alone or with ice cream / whipped topping and enjoy!

Tip: Try adding nuts, raisins or mixing with another fruit for variety !
