One of the best parts of summer is the fresh fruit. And as a mom, I try to incorporate as much as possible into my family’s diet. One fun way is to have my kids make their own fresh fruit kabobs! These are also a great breakfast buffet food as well as a fun summer party or BBQ treat.

Kid Friendly Fresh Fruit Kabobs

We also have a really yummy recipe for a ‘Marshmellow Creme Dip’ that is a perfect companion to your fruit kabobs!

Kid Friendly Fresh Fruit Kabobs with Marshmellow Creme Dip

Ingredients for the Fruit Kabobs:
24 fresh strawberries
24 seedless grapes
24 fresh pineapple chunks
24 mandarin orange slices
24 watermelon chunks

Ingredients for Marshmallow Creme Dip:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup marshmallow creme
2 teaspoons finely chopped or grated orange rind
1 teaspoon ginger

You’ll also need:
12-8″ metal or wooden skewers
6 individual dipping bowls

Optional: Use the kinds of fruit your family likes best that will work on skewers. I frequently use apples, pears, and kiwi too.

Instructions:
Wash and pat dry the strawberries and grapes. Drain the oranges. Cut pineapple into 1″ chunks. Thread fruit onto 12-8″ skewers then chill on a flat plate in refrigerator.

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, marshmallow creme, orange rind and ginger. Serve in individual serving bowls per person as a dip with the kabobs. This makes about 12 Fruit Kabobs!
