Picture this: an ice cold pitcher of Fruity Sangria on a warm evening and a group of friends to share it with. Sounds like summer to me!


Summertime Fruity Sangria

Other fresh or canned fruit chunks, such as pineapple, peaches or strawberries, sprigs of mint, can be used for garnish or stirred into the sangria. Be creative!

This drink is an Adult beverage and uses alcohol. Please keep out of the hands of minors!

Summertime Fruity Sangria

2 bottles red wine*
1 small can (6 ounces) frozen lemonade concentrate
1 cup rum or brandy
1 cup triple sec, or other orange-flavored liqueur
2/3 cup orange juice
1 lemon
4 cups chilled ginger ale
2 oranges sliced for garnish, if desired*

Optional: Feel free to use an inexpensive red table wine.

In a one-gallon pitcher or other container, combine wine, frozen lemonade concentrate, rum, Triple Sec, and orange juice. Slice lemon, and add. Stir well and refrigerate until chilled through, at least 2 hours.

Just before serving, stir in ginger ale. Serve over ice, in wine glasses, garnished with orange slices and mint.
