We make smoothies often in our house and frankly, some have been “creative”. But it seems our favorite one is still the traditional Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie especially on hot summer days.

Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie

I like to do it with frozen strawberries, because it makes the smoothie even more refreshing and “icier”, but fresh strawberries work just fine. This recipe is for 4 servings, just double or split in half to get either two or 8 servings.

Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie

1/2 cup strawberries, fresh or frozen
2/3 cup yogurt (natural flavor)
3 tablespoons sugar
1 cup vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup milk
4-5 whole strawberries for decoration

Optional: sprigs of mint, pineapple triangles

Put strawberries, yogurt and sugar into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into longdrink glasses. Fill up to half of the glass.

Wash the blender quickly. (This is important, because you don’t want to have rests of red color in the next liquid.)

Blend vanilla ice cream with milk until foamy. Pour carefully on top of the strawberry yogurt into the glasses.

Now you’ll have a really awesome two-colored strawberry smothie. Garnish the top of your glass with one of the whole strawberries with a spig of mint or pineapple and strawberry and enjoy!
