Most of us are used to grabbing a bottle of BBQ sauce off the shelf when we are in the mood for BBQ’d anything … it’s easier and faster than making it. Below is a quick and simple recipe for a BBQ sauce that you can make in minutes and use as a topping, or a simmering sauce for burgers, chops or chicken.
You will need:
- medium saucepan or deep large skillet
- wooden spoon
- 1 medium onion, diced fine
- 1 green pepper, diced fine
- 1/3 cup sweet cubed pickles, chopped
- 2 teaspoons mustard
- 1/3 cup vinegar
- 1/2 cup catchup
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Mix chopped onion and green pepper together, then combine in saucepan with all the other ingredients.
Heat to boiling, then simmer for 4-5 minutes. When it’s done it can be used right away or be stored in the fridge.
Tip: If you like spicy/hot BBQ sauce, just add a dash or 2 of Tabasco.
