Need a good appetizer recipe that is ridiculously easy, very affordable and completely delicious? Try these Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms.
Every time I have made these for a party or brought to a gathering of some kind, someone always wants the recipe. And, yes. They’re addicting.
Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms
Ground Sausage (I use a 12 oz package of Jimmy Dean)
8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
Optional: add a wee bit of garlic to the mixture and top with parmesan cheese before baking.
Crumble and brown sausage; set aside.
Clean the mushrooms. Remove, chop and reserve the stems.
In a medium bowl, gently mix the chopped mushroom stems, cream cheese and bread crumbs. Mix in the sausage. Using a spoon, stuff the mushroom caps with the chopped stem mixture and place them in a large baking dish.
Bake at 400 degrees until brown. That it is!
