It seems like alcohol containing “energy drinks” like Four Loko sprang up out of nowhere, taking over college campuses and the newswires in recent months. Battle after battle to get these products off convenience store shelves have finally led to intervention by the FDA.

Those whose mothers drank heavily had more problems. But those whose mothers only drank small amounts of wine during their pregnancy turned out to have better cognitive skills and overall behavior than those from mothers who didn’t drink at all.

TEL AVIV, ISRAEL - MARCH 19: A glass of Cabernet Sauvignon is poured ahead of a tasting session as more than 250 wines from some 60 Israeli wineries compete for coveted awards to be announced next week March 19, 2007 in Tel Aviv. Super Bowl Drink Recipes: Touchdown Punch Recipe

All set for your Super Bowl Party this weekend, February 7th, 2010? If not, and you need an idea for drinks to go along with all the great appetizers and other foods you’ll be serving, give this Super Bowl Touchdown Punch Recipe a try!
If you want a non-alcoholic version of the punch, simply omit the vodka.
Serving punch is a good way to monitor the alcohol intake of your guests….you can pour in as much as you like, or just use one or 2 shots of vodka in the mix. No matter how much you decide, do make your guests aware that the punch contains vodka, as many people don’t care to drink anything, especially if there’s a drive ahead of them.

Please drink responsibly, and ask your guests to do the same!

Gluehwein Recipe

When its cold outside, there is nothing like some gluehwein to warm you up from the inside out. The German beverage is a perfect treat on a cold winter night.

Gluehwein is a German drink that is usually associated with the Christmas season. You can get a cup or ten of gluehwein at any Christmas Market in Germany. Its perfect to go along with the steaming hot bratwurst sandwiches that all the vendors there sale.

Here in the United States it sounds like it should be spelled ‘glue-vine’. I’ve seen it spelled ‘gluewein’, ‘gluvine’, ‘gluwine’ and ‘gluwein’. It doesn’t matter how you spell it, as long as you enjoy it.

Here’s a recipe that can be made in your own home. Experiment with the spices till you get just the way you like it!
